When I was 12 years old, I moved with my mother to her hometown of San Juan Sacatepéquez, after my parents divorced. I worked many types of jobs to earn money for my family, including helping older people. Some then became friends who taught me various ways to earn money.

At 24 years old I was a busy entrepreneur, but my passion had always been to someday produce the best premium coffee. I read many books about coffee, took training courses in coffee roasting, etc., and even built a coffee roaster in my garage! Eventually, I was able to enter the coffee industry as a third-generation coffee producer.
